Finding the display: the 2-click setupWhen the Upoint remote is equipped with a laser distance sensor the setup procedure consists of pointing to two well-chosen points on the display, e.g., the lower-left and upper-right corner, both of which are indicated by the system.
Using a laser distance sensor: the 2-click setup procedure Internally, the Upoint software measures the orientation of the pointing lines and the distances along them. Using the assumptions mentioned in the section on finding the display (i.e., it has vertical and horizontal edges), this constitutes enough information to uniquely establish the size, (relative) position and orientation of the display.
