Management & personnelThe inventor, Dr. Erik J. Banning, is a full-time employee of Shell Oil. Dr. Banning holds a Ph.D. in theoretical physics as well as an M.Sc. in applied physics, and has more than 9 years of professional experience in the oil-business. During his career Dr. Banning has managed a number of projects, for which cooperation with 3rd parties, interdisciplinary contacts and involvement of academic institutions were of critical importance. Currently, Dr. Banning is involved on technical, managerial and IP levels in a (confidential) multi-million $ project involving multiple major players in the oil-industry. Dr. Banning is an expert in electromagnetics, specializing in directionality. The overall Upoint strategy includes setting up a joint development project industry partners.
