The Upoint handheld remote.A fully functional prototype of the Upoint invention has been constructed by Sparkfun's Peter Dokter, and contains both an orientation sensor consisting of magnetometers, accelerometers and gyroscopes, as well as both a laser- and an ultrasonic distance sensor. This prototype communicates over BlueTooth, and the necessary drivers were written by the inventor in C.
